The Nair Service Society

The Nair Service Society is an organization created for the social advancement and welfare of the Nair community, established under the leadership of Sri. Mannathu Padmanabhan. The NSS has evolved into a well knit and coherent organization that has never swerved from the noble ideals and high principles of the founder.

Our Institution

The NSS runs more than a hundred schools, number of arts and science colleges, training colleges, engineering college, Homeo Medical College, several nursing colleges, Polytechnic College, TTC Schools, Working Women's hostels and Technical Institutions. NSS has extended the benefits of its service beyond communal and religious boundaries and has been playing a significant role in the social, economic, educational and political transformations of the state.

The Founder

Sri.Mannathu Padmanabhan the peerless leader of the Nair Community, the immortal founder of the Nair Service Society and the great social reformer was born in the closing decades of the 19th century in perunnai, a village in changanacherry taluk of the erstwhile state of Travancore as the son of middle-class parents. His early life was marked by poverty and deprivation. After education he became a teacher and a pleader and was deeply involved in political and social movements. He dedicated his life to uplift the Nair Community from darkness to light by fighting against social evils and inspired generations with his vision and leadership.

MESSAGE

NSS Arts and Science College Perayam, affiliated to Kerala University Approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) imparts Value based Quality Education to both the genders. The college sparkles with highest pass percentage and secures University Ranks every year. Our college had a humble beginning with five departments due to the earnest efforts made by the Management, Faculty and Students.

The College always stands for values and empowerment of the rural youth. The heights gained by our college bears testimony to its diligence, indomitable resolution and robust sense of commitment to its ideals and goals.
